Men's Basketball Surges Past Tennessee, 85-74

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Dwayne Wade scored 30 points and led a second-half surge as Marquette defeated Tennessee 85-74 Wednesday night in the opening round of the Great Alaska Shootout.
Marquette (3-0), trailing 42-37, went on a 23-6 run to start the second half. Wade scored 12 points and handed out an assist during the stretch that put the Golden Eagles ahead for good.
Vincent Yarbrough scored after an offensive rebound to pull Tennessee to 75-65 with just under five minutes to go, but the Volunteers could get no closer.
Wade finished 8-of-17 from the field, made his only 3-point attempt and hit 13 of 17 free-throw attempts. He dished out seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds, both team highs.
Tennessee (1-1) led the entire first half and was up 37-25 with just under five minutes left in the half. Marquette went on a 10-0 run to close to within a basket, with Wade scoring seven points.
Yarbrough led the Volunteers with 24 points.
