After arriving back from Kansas City in the early morning hours on Wednesday, the Marquette men's basketball team participated in an event benefitting the Hunger Task Force at State Fair Park.

Wesley Matthews, former Marquette player and current member of the NBA's Portland Trailblazers, donated 100 turkeys to the Hunger Task Force Wednesday morning at the 102.9 HOG For Hunger event. Organizers will be collecting cash and non-perishable food donations in the parking lot East of the Pettit center until 5 p.m. on Nov. 24.

"Milwaukee has been my second home since before I started at Marquette and it's an amazing feeling to give back to a city that's given so much in support of me during my career," Matthews said.

Every member of the Marquette team and coaching staff was in attendance and the group transported the 100 turkeys from a university van to the collection truck. For 14 years, 102.9 The HOG has been packing semi-trucks full of food and stocking the shelves at Hunger Task Force.
