MILWAUKEE - Junior goalkeeper Natalie Kulla was named to the BIG EAST Conference weekly honor roll announced Monday afternoon by conference officials. Kulla helped Marquette to a 1-0-1 opening weekend of play that included a 5-0 shutout of Idaho State and a 1-1 double overtime draw at Ohio State.
Kulla's shutout of Idaho State marked her first of the season, 23rd of her career to move into a tie for second place with Laura Boyer on Marquette's all-time shutouts list. Kulla followed up her performance against Idaho State with three saves in the 1-1 draw at Ohio State. Kulla looked sharp against the Buckeyes stifling two 1-v-1 attempts in the second half.
The honor roll selection is Kulla's first of the season and the fourth of her career.
The Golden Eagles moved to No. 23 in the Soccer America poll released Monday.
