Marquette returns two starters and five letter winners from a team that won 24 games in 2010-11 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. Two of the Golden Eagles top six scorers from last season are back in junior Sarina Simmons (7.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and sophomore Katherine Plouffe (6.5 ppg and 5.1 rpg).
It will be a youth movement of sorts as Golden Eagles welcome six newcomers, Cristina Bigica, Chelsie Butler, Margeaux Dupuy, Arlesia Morse, Apiew Ojulu and Lauren Tibbs to the team.
Carthage College, a NCAA Division III program, was picked to win the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin this season. The Lady Red returns three starters and 11 letter winners including Diana Jacklin who scored 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game during the 2010-11 season.
