Legault-Cordisco Called to U20 Canadian National Team

MILWAUKEE - Sophomore midfielder Vanessa Legault-Cordisco of the Marquette University women's soccer team is among 20 players on the Under-20 Canadian Women's National Team roster for the CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship in Panama City, Panama, March 1-11.

The CONCACAF U20 Women's Championship is a qualifying tournament for the U20 Women's World Cup slated for Aug. 18-Sept. 8 in Japan.

The Canadians open play on March 1 against Haiti. They will also face Jamaica on March 3 and Mexico on March 5. The semifinals are set for March 9 with the final and third place match on March 11. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals and the top three teams overall earn a berth in the U20 Women's World Cup.

Prior to the call-up, Legault-Cordisco had been training the with Canadian Women's National Team in Costa Rica. The Laval, Quebec native also played with the Canadian National Team that won the 2011 Pan American Games last October.
