Kelly Helps Club Team to the U23 USASA Championship

CHICAGO - Junior Maegan Kelly enjoyed a successful weekend at the U23 United States Amateur Soccer Association National Cup Finals in Chicago, as she helped her KC Dynamos squad to the U23 USASA Championship. Along with Kelly, five Golden Eagles were also in action at the National Cup Finals playing for FC Milwaukee.

In the semifinals, The FC Milwaukee U23 squad, featuring Taylor Madigan, Kate Reigle, Rachel Brown and Cara and Emily Jacobson, defeated Region I champion, Annandale Conquistadors (MDCVA), 2-1. Cara Jacobson and Reigle each scored in the win.

Kelly scored two goals and added four assists in the Dynamos in a 14-0 win over Louisiana United, setting up the dramatic final between the two squads.

In the final, Cara Jacobson notched her second goal of the tournament for FC Milwaukee, but it was Kelly's KC Dynamos that came away victorious, 5-1. Kelly registered two assists in the championship match.

The Golden Eagles report to campus on July 31 to begin their preseason training camp. Marquette soccer will host Fan Fest on Thursday, Aug. 9 beginning at 4:30 p.m., and will host an exhibition game against Wisconsin that evening at 7 p.m. The event is free to attend.
