The Marquette University men's tennis team continued play at the 35th Annual Ball State Fall Invitational Saturday in Muncie, Ind., with main draw action in singles and doubles.
Freshman Nick Dykema will play for the Flight B title on Sunday morning after earning a pair of victories on Saturday. After defeating an opponent from host Ball State, Dykema claimed a 6-4, 7-5 decision over Illinois State's Rolando Torrellas in the semifinals.
Dykema, who claimed the Flight D title at the Purdue Invitational, will take the court at 9 a.m. CT for the flight championship.
Senior Logon Collins was the lone Marquette representative still alive in the Flight A draw, but was defeated by Jacob Wilson of Illinois State in the quarterfinals. Freshman Kristiyan Trukov, who had started his career 9-0 in singles action, also fell in his quarterfinal matchup in Flight B to another competitor from ISU.
The doubles tandem of junior Cameron Tehrani and Dykema was also in action in the Flight B bracket and advanced to the championship match versus new BIG EAST opponent Butler.
