The No. 24/rv Marquette University men's basketball team (15-5, 6-2 BIG?EAST) wraps up a two-game BIG EAST Conference road swing at USF (10-11, 1-8 BIG?EAST) Wednesday night at 6 p.m. CT. ESPN2 will feature Marquette's 13th national television broadcast of the campaign, with Mike Patrick (play-by-play) and LaPhonso Ellis (analyst) calling the action. The Golden Eagles are currently in the midst of a stretch that sees the team play four games in nine days, including three contests on the road. Following the outing against the Bulls, MU will return home to face DePaul at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 for Al's Day in honor of legendary former Marquette head coach Al McGuire.

Marquette Hoping To Continue Success vs. USF

The Golden Eagles own an 18-3 advantage over the Bulls in the all-time series and have claimed 11 of the last 12 meetings between the two programs, including a 63-50 decision at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Jan. 28.

The series dates back to 1986 with non-conference action, but moved to league action when both teams joined Conference USA. USF last defeated the Golden Eagles 57-56 on Feb. 6, 2009 in the Sun Dome and the Bulls' lone victory (75-63) in Milwaukee came on Dec. 13, 1998.

Wednesday night's matchup completes the first of Marquette's four mirror opponent outings in league play. MU still has to face Georgetown (Feb. 11), Pittsburgh (Jan. 16) and Seton Hall (Feb. 19) in home-and home-series.

Lockett Picking Up Production In League Play

Senior Trent Lockett reached double figures in points in three-straight games following a 16-point effort at Louisville Sunday afternoon, which marked a personal best at Marquette.

Over the course of the last three outings, Lockett is contributing 13.0 points per night while shooting 50.0 percent (11-of-22) from the field and 15-of-19 (78.9 percent) from the free throw line in 33.7 minutes per game. He is also chipping in a team-best 5.7 boards per contest and has dished out 2.3 assists per outing since the Jan. 26 win over Providence.

The Golden Valley, Minn., native finished with a season-best 10 rebounds in the Jan. 5 win over Georgetown and has grabbed five-or-more in all but two BIG EAST outings. He grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds on two occasions while at Arizona State and his personal-best point total of 24 came against Weber State on Nov. 26, 2010 while with the Sun Devils.

Lockett earned his undergraduate degree at ASU in three years and was granted a waiver by the NCAA allowing him to play in 2012-13 without sitting out. He is enrolled in the sports leadership master's program at Marquette.

Blue Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll After Strong Week

Junior guard Vander Blue netted a career-high 30 points Jan. 28 in the victory over USF, helping him to selection for the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the second time in 2012-13.

The Madison, Wis., native finished 13-of-20 from the floor in 34 minutes of action and also chipped in six rebounds, one assist and a steal. His previous high of 26 points came against Winthrop last season in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam. The scoring output marked just the sixth time in Blue's 91-game career he has surpassed the 20-point plateau in a game.

Blue is the first Marquette player to score 30-or-more points in a victory since Steve Novak collected 41 points against Connecticut on Jan. 3, 2006 in the program's first-ever BIG?EAST Conference game.

Blue averaged a league-leading 23.5 points per game in a pair of outings last week, following up the effort versus USF with a 17-point afternoon in the loss at Louisville.

Marquette Set To Collect Frequent Flyer Miles

While Marquette is currently in the mix for first place in the BIG EAST Conference with a 6-2 record, the road to a league title becomes even more difficult as February arrives.

The Golden Eagles, who began a stretch of five road games in seven outings Sunday at Louisville, have more games (six) away from home remaining on the schedule than any other team in the conference.

Marquette is 19-20 on the road in BIG EAST play under head coach Buzz Williams since the 2008-09 campaign. MU's win total is the fourth-best total among league schools during that time frame.
