The Marquette University men's tennis team (7-6) plays a pair of non-conference matches this week on its annual spring trip to the state of Florida.
The Golden Eagles will take on Lehigh at 8 a.m. CT in Daytona, Fla., on March 13 at 8 a.m. CT before traveling to Orlando on March 15 to face UCF.
"It's always a challenge to adjust to playing outside for the first time when we are already well into the dual season," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "Fortunately, it's something our guys have gotten used to and I expect them to respond."
Marquette has been led in dual action by junior Dan Mamalat and sophomore Cameron Tehrani. Mamalat is an impressive 11-2 at the No. 1 position and Tehrani has seen all of his action at the No. 4 spot, where he is 9-2 thus far in 2012-13. Both Mamalat and Tehrani have posted wins in nine of their previous 10 outings and are tops on the roster in overall singles victories with 16 and 18, respectively.
Lehigh owns an 8-1 overall record, including a perfect 7-0 mark at home. The Mountain Hawks will face Florida Tech (March 11) and Fairfield (March 12) before the opening serve against Marquette. UCF owns an overall record of 8-6 entering a matchup Tuesday afternoon with Army. The Knights are in the midst of a nine-match homestand to conclude the regular season.
