The Marquette University men's tennis team continues play this weekend when it heads out to play in the Boise State Spring Invite on March 22-23.
Marquette (8-7) will make its fourth appearance at the annual tournament, which also includes tournament-host Boise State, Idaho, Southern Mississippi, UAB and Utah.
This year's invitational will consist of assigned matches between the teams, rather than the usual draw format. The Golden Eagles will open action against Utah before facing Southern Miss Friday afternoon. The squad returns to action Saturday morning against host Boise State.
At last year's event, Marquette claimed seventh place, capping off the tournament with a win over Idaho and early losses to Ball State and then No. 65 Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles clinched the 4-3 victory over Idaho with Cameron Tehrani's No. 4 singles spot win.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 5-2 loss at UCF in Daytona, Fla., last time out. Junior Dan Mamalat won in straight sets at the No. 1 singles spot, improving to 18-7 overall and 13-2 in dual competition. He is sitting on an eight-match win streak.
