MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's tennis team will head to Ann Arbor, Mich., this week, (Oct. 22-27) to compete in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted at the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
With a field of 25 teams including the Golden Eagles, the tournament will be played over the course of six days, and the winners of each draw (singles and doubles) will receive berths to the ITA National Indoor Championships.
The first serves of the tournament are scheduled for 7 a.m. CT on Thursday Oct. 22 beginning with the qualifying singles first round. The qualifying singles second round is slated to begin following the first round, at 11:30.
On Friday morning, the qualifying singles round will be completed with eight of the 16 remaining players advancing to singles main draw, which is scheduled to begin Saturday at 9 a.m. Also beginning on Friday will be the main draw on the doubles side, and the first round of play is set for 1 p.m.
Sunday will mark the quarterfinals and semifinals of the doubles side, as well as the singles main draw round of 16.
Carrying over into the next week, the doubles main draw championship will be held at 8 a.m. on Monday Oct. 26, which is to be followed by the quarterfinals and semifinals of the singles side at 9:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m., respectively.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday Oct. 27, with the singles main draw championship slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT.
Draws for qualifying singles are set to be revealed later this week.
Marquette will look to keep their pace from last time out at the University of Arizona's Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, where the Golden Eagles were able to grab multiple victories in both singles and doubles matches. The ITA's will mark MU's first competition in over two weeks.

Following this week's play, Marquette's next time in action will come when the squad heads to Kalamazoo, Mich., to participate in the Western Michigan Super Challenge Nov. 6-8.
