Costanza, Goslee Land on All-BIG EAST Second Team

April 29, 2015

Official BIG EAST Release

NEW YORK -- Claire Costanza and Elizabeth Goslee of the Marquette University women's lacrosse program have earned All-BIG EAST Conference Second Team honors, the league office announced Wednesday, April 29.

Costanza, a junior attacker, eclipsed 40 points for the third straight season after leading the Golden Eagles with 46 in 2015. She tied for the team-lead with 21 goals and ranked second in the league with 25 assists. The Webster, New York native started in all 17 games and scored in all, but one. She added 21 draw controls and 14 ground balls in her third season with Marquette.

Costanza was a two-time BIG EAST weekly award winner this season and was named a team captain mid-way through the year by her teammates after showing tremendous leadership on the field. Her seven-assist, 10-point performance in a win over St. Mary's (March 10) was a program record for most assists and points in a single game.

Prior to a near-comeback win over Georgetown (April 18) in the home finale, Costanza had reached 20 straight games with a point dating back to the 2014 season. She now has a point scored in 21 of her last 22 contests.

Goslee, a junior defender and two-time All-BIG EAST honoree, led Marquette and ranked second in the BIG EAST and 20th-nationally with 30 caused turnovers in 2015. The Cincinnati native also tied for the team-lead with 30 ground balls and ranked fourth with 16 draw controls.

Goslee, who also twice reeled in BIG EAST weekly accolades this season, anchored a defensive unit that improved its goals against average from 11.41 goals per game allowed in 2014 to 9.76 in 2015.

Marquette concluded the 2015 season with a 5-12 overall record, including a 1-6 mark in the BIG EAST.
