KANSAS CITY - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has announced its Team Academic Award recipients for the 2015-16 academic year and Marquette University men's soccer was recognized for the eighth consecutive season, the organization announced on Thursday.

Each year, the NSCAA honors college programs for their exemplary performance in the classroom that meet or exceed a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the entire academic year. A total of 892 soccer teams, including 315 men's teams, were honored.

Under the direction of head coach Louis Bennett, the Golden Eagles made the list for the eighth consecutive year with a 3.26 team GPA. Back in July, the men's soccer team placed 19 of its student-athletes on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, which was the fourth-most of any program at Marquette.

The NSCAA is the world's largest soccer coaches' organization, with a goal of educating coaches, encouraging excellence and serving the soccer community.
