Marquette Set To Open Play At ITA Midwest Regional

The Marquette University men's tennis team will send six representatives to the ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by University of Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. from Oct. 19-23.

Marquette's six representatives will include Luke Smrek, Brett Meyers, Luis Gomez, Alvaro Verdu, Greg Anderson, and Scott Christian. Smrek will be featured in the main draw, while Verdu, Meyers, Gomez, and Anderson will play in the qualifying rounds.

The event will also feature doubles action, in which the Golden Eagles will send Verdu/Gomez, Anderson/Smrek, and Meyers/Christian to the main draw.

The Golden Eagles were represented at the Bayliss Invitational on Oct. 6-8 by six players that picked up multiple victories over the course of the weekend.

Following the ITA's, the squad will conclude their fall schedule at the Redbird Fall Classic in Normal, Ill. from Nov. 3-5.
