MILWAUKEE -- The No. 23/20 ranked Marquette University women's basketball team will host Loyola-Chicago in its annual Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Day game on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 11:30 a.m. Central time, airing live on Spectrum Sports.
The Golden Eagles (2-2) are returning to the Al McGuire Center from the Cancun Challenge, where they collected a win over Montana, 87-68, and fell in overtime to then-No. 12/14 Tennessee, 101-99. MU was paced by Allazia Blockton and Natisha Hiedeman, who combined for nearly half of the team's total points over the road trip. Blockton's performance was highlighted by a season-best 28 points against the Lady Volunteers en route to tallying her first double-double with 11 boards and she was selected to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
The Ramblers (0-4) have yet to find a win and most recently fell to Marquette's cross-city foe Milwaukee on Nov. 21, 63-41. Freshman Kailyn Strawbridge leads Loyola-Chicago averaging 14.3 points per game, while classmate Alexis Meyer is pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game.
Loyola and Marquette will meet for the 18th time on Tuesday and the Golden Eagles hold a 9-8 edge in the series, including winning in each of the last six contests. In the most recent meeting between the two teams back on Nov. 17, 2014, Marquette picked up an 86-71 win over the Ramblers at the Al McGuire Center.
Following Tuesday's contest, Marquette takes to the road for an instate matchup against Green Bay on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. Central time.
