Marquette Caps Florida Trip with Mission Hill Spectacular

Concluding a week of spring break practice in Florida, Marquette will close its trip playing 54 holes in the two-day, 17-team Mission Inn Spring Spectacular at El Campeon G.C. in Howey-on-the-Hills, Florida, hosted by George Mason University.

The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. It's the second 54-hole event of the spring schedule for Marquette.

  • According to the Golfstat/Sagarin Men's Collegiate Rankings, MU is the second-highest ranked team in the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular at No. 117 - TCU is the highest at No. 61.
  • Sophomore Oliver Farrell's rankings summary: Golfstat - No. 110; Golfweek/Sagarin - No. 156; 38th-ranked English player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
  • Farrell has posted par or better scores in eight of his last 11 rounds; he's lead Marquette in total scoring in 10 of his 16 career starts.
  • Farrell (71.55, 0.00 vs. par) enters the weekend second in the BIG EAST in scoring average. Matt Murlick joins Farrell in the league's top 10 at the No. 9 spot (73.75, +2.20), while Charlie Maleki (74.18, +2.88) and Matthew Bachmann (74.50, +2.88) rank in the top 20 at 16th and 17th, respectively.
