OMAHA, Neb.-- The Marquette women's basketball team remains unbeaten in BIG EAST Conference play with a 92-77 victory at Creighton on Sunday afternoon. The 4-0 start is the best in program history.
Amani Wilborn lead Marquette (10-5, 4-0) with a career-high 23 points, while Allazia Blockton tallied 20 points. Also in double digits was Natisha Hiedeman with 16 and Danielle King with 15 points.
After a close first half, the Golden Eagles pulled away in the second taking its largest lead at 19 points with 1:56 left in the third quarter. MU finished the day shooting 40 percent (28-70), including seven three-point shots, and outrebounded the Bluejays, 40-33.
The first half was a back-and-forth contest with eight lead changes and the score tied eight times. MU shot 40 percent (14-35) from the floor and grabbed seven points off eight Creighton turnovers.
Creighton (9-6, 3-2) had two record double digits, led by Audrey Faber with 20 points, while Jaylyn Agnew poured in 17.
