ERIN, Wis. — Hunter Eichhorn's even par 72 on Tuesday kept him at 1-under-par and moved him to fifth place, while Marquette sits in third place (591, 15-over-par) through 36 holes at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills.

Eichhorn is four strokes off the pace set by Arizona State's Alex del Rey (5-under-par), while Marquette (289-302) is 13 strokes off the team lead, set by the Sun Devils at 2-over-par.  All teams shot over par for their rounds, while only six players in the 72-man field shot below par.

For the second day in a row, rain fell while temperatures hovered in the low 50s.  A steady rain fell from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CT, and play was suspended for an hour at 3:30 p.m. with a threat of lighting in the area.

Following an opening round 71, Eichhorn shot 2-over-par on his first eight holes, before a 3-under-par run covered the next eight holes.  His 25 tournament pars in 36 holes are tops in the field.

Oliver Farrell (71-74) sits tied for 10th at 1-over-par, but just six strokes off the lead.

Marquette has a field-best 30 birdie makes.
