Women’s Tennis Set For The ITA Regional Championship

Michigan to host the annual event

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Marquette University women's tennis team will travel to The University of Michigan for the six-day ITA Midwest Regional Championships (Oct. 18-23).

Junior Issy Franks, freshman Elisabeth Desmarais, junior Fleur Eggink, freshman Alexandrina Chinikova and junior Lesley Foe will compete in qualifying single rounds on Thursday, Oct. 18 beginning at 7 a.m. CT.

Sophomore Natalija Popovic has previously qualified for the main draw that will begin on Friday, Oct. 19. 

The qualifying singles draw will be a full 64-person draw, with eight players earning berths to the singles main draw. The winners of each main draw will receive automatic berths to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.

Midwest region teams that will be participating in the event include; Michigan, Akron, Bowling Green, Chicago State, Cleveland State, DePaul, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Illinois-Chicago, Illinois, Marquette, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wisconsin, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Youngstown State.
