For the second day in a row, the Marquette University men's tennis team (16-6) rallied for a win at the 2018 BIG EAST Tournament Presented by Jeep, this time downing St. John's 4-2, in the semifinals Saturday afternoon in Cayce, S.C.

The Golden Eagles, who also came back to down Creighton Friday afternoon after dropping the doubles point, will play in the title match for the fourth-straight season on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. MU will face DePaul for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The Blue Demons downed Marquette 6-1 in Chicago on April 21.

After falling behind 1-0 in doubles, MU quickly moved in front 3-1 courtesy of straight-set victories by sophomore Brandon Shanklin, senior Alvaro Verdu and sophomore Brett Meyers.

Freshman Luis Heredia Gomez, who had match point opportunities against the Red Storm in the team's 4-3 loss during the regular season, didn't allow that to happen again. He was able to pull away in the third set against Andrei Crapcenco and his 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win secured the come-from-behind decision.
