Christine (Spindler) Jurss (1990-93) was named the most outstanding performer at the 1993 Great Midwest Conference Indoor Championships after winning the 55m hurdles, high jump and triple jump, which included a pair of league records. A recipient of the McCahill Award, presented to Marquette’s top senior student-athlete, Spindler graduated a 13-time conference champion and set the league record in three outdoor events (high jump, heptathlon, 100-meter hurdles). A three-time team MVP, she left MU in possession of seven school records and is still in the top-10 all-time in 11 events. After 30 years, Spindler still ranks second at Marquette in the high jump (5-9.25) and heptathlon (5,321 points).
