Golf Team Caps Off Fall Schedule In New Orleans

UP NEXT Head coach Tim Grogan?s Marquette golf squad concludes its Fall schedule at Tulane University?s Deep South Intercollegiate Tournament on Mon.-Tue., Oct. 25-26. The three-round tournament is to be held at the Money Hill Country Club in New Orleans.
LAST WEEK The Marquette University golf team finished ninth at the University of Louisville?s Persimmon Ridge Intercollegiate Tournament at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club on Mon.-Tue., Oct. 18-19. Led by junior Mark Wentz (DeForest, Wis. / DeForest), the Golden Eagles shot a two-round score of 613 to tie Ball State for ninth place. Notre Dame captured the team title with a 17-over-par 593.
Wentz shot a 73 on both days of competition, finishing with a two-over 146 that was good for fourth place among the 90 individual finishers. Tim Jacobs (McHenry, Ill. / McHenry) also turned in a strong performance, finishing in a nine-way tie for 26th place with a score of 152, which was eight over par.
