Women's 'B' Team Impresses at Great Midwest Classic

KANKAKEE, Ill. - Sophomore Bethany Harry led the Marquette women's cross country ?B? team to a fifth-place finish at Olivet Nazarene?s ONU/Great Midwest Classic this afternoon. The Golden Eagles were six points out of third place with 148 points, just behind Aquinas (142) and Indiana Wesleyan (144). Calvin College took the team title with 19 points, while Huntington came in second with 114 points.
Harry earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 18:44 in the individual race. Natalie McClure continued her strong 1999 with a time of 19:05, good for 19th place among the 191 women?s runners in the 5K. Anne Faas and Andrea Casey also turned in good performances, taking 50th and 51st place, respectively.
Mikendra Massey of Park College captured the individual title with a time of 17:41.
