FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Marquette University golf team finished 13th this afternoon at Indiana University?s Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate Tournament at the Legends of Indiana Golf Club. The Golden Eagles shot a three-round score of 906, 28 shots behind Miami of Ohio and Notre Dame, which tied for first place. The Redskins took the team title after winning a playoff.
The Golden Eagles were led by juniors Tim Jacobs (McHenry, Ill. / McHenry) and Mark Wentz (DeForest, Wis. / DeForest) who tied for 34th place with eight-over-par 224s. Jacobs shot a Marquette-low round of 72 in today?s final 18 holes. Steve Ratay of Notre Dame took the individual title with a two-under 214.
Marquette next plays Oct. 18-19 at the University of Louisville?s Persimmon Ridge Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
