MILWAUKEE, Wis. -
UP NEXT Dave Uhrich?s Marquette women?s cross country team is back in action this weekend at the University of Maine?s Murray Keatinge Invitational in Orono, Maine, on Sat., Oct. 9. The women?s race is slated to get underway at 11:30 a.m. (CT).
After not competing last week, the Golden Eagles still moved into the national rankings at #26 and are eager to prove their mettle in Maine this weekend. The seventh-annual Murray Keatinge is scheduled to feature Central Connecticut State, Dalhousie, Holy Cross, Indiana, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Marquette. The top three teams from a year ago are not competing, leaving the women's team title up for grabs. The top individual finisher returning from last year's race is Vermont's Robin Fogg, who placed ninth a year ago.
LAST WEEK The Marquette women?s ?B? team competed at Loyola Chicago?s Lakefront Invitational on Sat., Oct. 2. Competing unattached as individuals, several Golden Eagles turned in good performances. Freshman Natalie McClure (Edgerton, Wis. / Argo [Ill.]) led the Marquette finishers in a time of 19:45, which secured her 85th place among the 438 women finishers. Juniors Andrea Casey (Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) and Erin Houlihan (Waukesha, Wis. / South) also had good outings, taking 113th and 154th place with times of 20:01 and 20:26, respectively.
