Marquette Wrestling Looking Towards Wheaton Invitational

MILWAUKEE - Up Next The Marquette wrestling team (3-13) travels to Wheaton, Ill., to compete in the Wheaton Invitational on Feb. 4-5. The tournament begins at 2 p.m. (CT) on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Last Week On Sunday, Jan. 30 in the Marquette Invitatinal II tournament at the Marquette Gym, the Golden Eagles placed three wrestlers in the finals. Sophomores 149-pounder Bill Neville (West Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling), 174-pounder Micah Nelson (Portage, Wisc.,/Portage) and freshman 141-pounder Brian O'Farrell (Chicago/St. Laurence), all reached the finals of the tournament.
On Friday, ]an. 28, the Marquette wrestling team was defeated by Kent State 44-6 and the University at Buffalo 31-12 at Kent State's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on Friday night. The Golden Eagles are currently on an eight-match losing streak. Marquette's 157-pounder junior Neil Posmer (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) pinned Joe Charlton for MU's only lone victory in their match against the Golden Flashes. In their match against Buffalo, junior 125 pounder Dan Fell (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) defeated Charlie Voorhees 8-3, heavyweight George Flannick (Greendale, Wisc.,/PiusIX) pinned Charlie Mesa at the 4:23 mark and Posmer defeated Jacob Parlow 12-6. Posmer leads the team in victories with 20.
