WRESTLING READY FOR DUAL MEET
Golden Eagles Compete in Luther Duals

UP NEXT The Marquette wrestling squad (0-3) travels to Decorah, Iowa to compete in the Luther Duals this Saturday on Jan. 8. The tournament is scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m. (CT) in the Regents Center on the campus of Luther College. The Golden Eagles will face a variety of opponents at the dual meet including, seventh-ranked Division II power Minnesota State-Mankato and Division III nationally-ranked schools No.4 Buena Vista University out of Lake, Iowa and No. 15 host Luther. In the latest InterMat polls, 165-pounder Peter Butville (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) is ranked #11 and 197-pounder Mike Schneider (Elk Grove, Ill./Conant) is ranked #17.
LAST WEEK The Golden Eagles are coming off a tough showing in the Great Plains Invitational on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. on Sunday, Jan. 2. Marquette was led by 149-pounder Brian Cobb (San Jose, Ca./Bellarmine), 174-pounder Mark Corsentino (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame), 184-pounders Brad Hampton (Richfield/ Waukesha Catholic) and Brock Warder (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City West) in the tournament. The quartet all advanced to the second round, a team-high finish for the Golden Eagles. This was the seventh open invitational tournament that Marquette has competed in this season.
