Women's Soccer Defeats DePaul, 7-0

MILWAUKEE - Junior Jill Vendetti (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) scored the first two goals for Marquette and assisted on the third as the Golden Eagles swarmed DePaul, 7-0, at Valley Fields. Marquette, the regular season Conference USA Champions, tied a school record for wins as it improved to 16-2-1 overall and finished unbeaten in C-USA play at 10-0-1. DePaul fell to 3-14 and 2-9 in C-USA.
Five different players scored for Marquette. Sophomore Kate Gordon (Sioux City, Iowa/North) scored a pair of goals in the second half and added an assist to match the scoring output of Vendetti. The match also had 26 MU players see time on the field on Senior Night.
"It was great that the seniors got to go out on a very high note, especially on the night we celebrate the senior's accomplishments," head coach Markus Roeders said. "In the second half, we did the things we were supposed to and it showed with results."
Marquette will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the Conference USA Tournament in St. Louis, Mo. The Golden Eagles, the tournament's no. 1 seed, await their opponent for the first round of the tournament.
