Brian Wardle Earns NABC District Honors

Milwaukee, Wisc. -- Marquette University junior forward Brian Wardle has been named to National Association of Basketball Coaches/Oldsmobile All-District 11 Second Team. Wardle now becomes eligible for the NABC/Oldsmobile Division I All-America Team.
The 6-foot-5 Wardle leads the team and is sixth in Conference USA in scoring with a 17.2 points per game average. Wardle, who has scored in double figures in 20 games this season, stands as the conference's leader in three-point field goal percentage (.450) and is eighth in field goal percentage (.455). In addition, he is ninth among league players in free throw percentage (.773). Named C-USA's Co-Player of the Week in mid-January, Wardle has registered 10 contests of 20 or more points including a pair of 31-point performances. Earlier this year, he cracked the 1,000 career-point plateau and is 26th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,094 points.
Wardle and his Marquette teammates will look to improve the squad's 14-11 overall (7-7 C-USA) record on Wednesday, March 1, when the Golden Eagles play host to UAB starting at 7:00 p.m.
