Marquette Wrestling Has Week Off

MILWAUKEE - Up Next- The Marquette University wrestling team (4-17) will be off from competition this week.
Last Week- The Golden Eagles finished seventh with 42 points in the NCAA West Regional in Cedar Falls, Iowa on the campus of Northern Iowa on Fri., March. 3. Host school Northern Iowa won the tournament with 146.5 points. Marquette shone individually in the tournament by qualifying two of its wrestlers for the NCAA Tournament and one as an alternate. Junior Peter Butville (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) finished second in the 165-pound weight class and will move on to the postseason. Senior Neil Posmer (Algonquin, IL/Jacobs) qualified for an NCAA berth with a fourth place finish in the 157-pound weight class. Senior Mike Schneider (Elk Grove, IL/Conant) finished second in the 197-pound weight class and qualified as an alternate. Butville and Posmer will travel to St. Louis, Mo., on March 16-18 to compete in the NCAA Tournament. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. (CT).
