Marquette Soccer Stars Participate in Charity Game

MILWAUKEE - Three Marquette women's soccer players -- Rhegan Hyypio, Heather O'Neil and Ashleigh Koenig --?stepped on the field Sunday night at the Bradley Center with some of the best players in the world, all for charity.
Nearly 14,000 people witnessed an indoor soccer double header between the Milwaukee Wave and Wichita Wings followed by the charity contest between the U.S. Women's National Team and a team of College All-Stars.
The National Team defeated the Collegians, 9-2.
Boston University forward Deidre Enos and University of North Carolina forward Meredith Florance scored for the college team, coached by Bob Spielmann and Peter Knezic. Shannon MacMillian had four goals and Kristine Lilly added three for the National Team while Danielle Fotopolus had a pair of assists.
The game and Saturday's dinner and auction raised nearly $100,000 for the Mia Hamm Foundation.
