Men's Track Team Ready For Busy Weekend

The Marquette men's track team is traveling to three different locations for meets this weekend. The team will be running at the Sea Ray Relays against No. 4 ranked Tennessee (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), at the LSU Invite against the No. 1 ranked Tigers (Saturday), as well as at the UW-Whitewater Invite (Friday).
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a second place finish last weekend at the Cardinal Challenge in Louisville. The men had a strong performance on the field, taking first place in the hammer throw, the shot put as well as the discus throw. Senior Greg Uher won both the shot put, with a throw of 53-9.75) and the discus throw (176-7). Senior Heath Roussel won the hammer throw with a toss of 171-9. Freshman Chris Schwandt set a personal best in the hammer throw, taking third with a throw of 136-10, placing him 10th on the all-time list.
The team also had a strong showing in the hurdle events. Sophomore Nic Wucherer finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (56.21) and second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.80). He was followed in the 110-hurdles by junior Cameron Harvey, who placed third with a time of 15.01, and senior Mike Diamond who finished fourth with a time of 15.11.
