WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Marquette B team received points from eight different entries as its women's track team ran to a 10th place finish at the Warhawk Invitational, a meet among area track teams.
In the field events, Amy Merril was the big scorer for Marquette, scoring four points in the Javelin with a fifth-place heave of 31.88 meters. She scored a point in the shot put, placing eighth with a throw of 10.72 meters.
Merril also scored in the sprint events, earning three points for a sixth place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.00.
Latre-C-Ea McClemen earned Marquette four team points with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 69.97.
In the 800-meter run, Sandy Fondow placed sixth to earn MU three points with a time of 2:24.19. Rounding out MU's scoring, Krystal Hardy earned a point with an eighth place finish in the 200-meter run.
Marquette is also competing this weekend in the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., and the LSU Alumni Gold in Baton Rouge, La.
