Marquette Women Head to Prestigious Drake Relays

The Marquette women's track team will go to Iowa this weekend to compete in the prestigious Drake Relays. The meet will include 22 NCAA champions, nine world-record holders and multiple Olympic athletes.
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a strong performance at their only home meet of the season last weekend. At that meet, senior Megan Kosman set a Marquette record in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 13.96. Senior Annie Lewandowski also set an MU record in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 46-8. Other performances of note were: freshman Brianna Dahm's personal best in the 800-meters, moving her onto the top 10 list, freshman Latri-c-ea McClendon won first place in the 400-meter hurdles, junior Jennifer Batie set a personal best and moved on to the all-time list by winning the 100-meter dash (12.38).
In the 400 meters, junior Jeannette Batie took second place, senior Sher-ree Beekman took third place, freshman Julianna Wesolowski set a personal best, moved herself onto the all-time list and took fourth place, and senior FlaTria Horne finished fifth overall.
