Return Of Marquette's 1977 National Championship Team To Highlight National Marquette Day Game Against Saint Louis

Milwaukee -- Members of Marquette's 1977 national basketball championship team will be in attendance and recognized at this Saturday's (Jan. 12) game against Saint Louis. Saturday's National Marquette Day contest between the Golden Eagles and Billikens will be held at the Bradley Center and tipoff is slated for 8:05 p.m.
The 1977 squad posted an overall record of 25-7 and earned the school's lone NCAA basketball title by defeating North Carolina, 67-59, in the championship contest. In recognition of the 25th anniversary of that event, members of the team will be recognized at halftime along with a special video being shown. In addition, fans attending the game will receive a commemorative poster marking the anniversary.
Among those in attendance will be former MU assistant and head coach Hank Raymonds, Bo Ellis, Butch Lee, Jerome Whitehead, Ulice Payne, Gary Rosenberger, Craig Butrym, Robert Byrd and Mark Lavin.
