Colson Wins Second Career Tournament MU sophomore takes medalist honors at Ironhorse Intercollegiate
TUSCOLA, Ill. - Sophomore Nathan Colson won the individual honors at the Ironhorse Intercollegiate, his second career tournament win. Colson led wire to wire, shooting a one over 73 in the second round and a par 72 in the final round to finish at 1-over 215. He held a one shot lead over Bradley's Andy Mickelson and Tennessee State's Mark Searle.
Colson led MU to its best team finish of the fall season, a third place spot. Marquette shot 895 to be one of three teams to break 900 for the event. Cleveland State won the tournament at 880. Butler was second at 885.
Senior Matt Hilton turned in a 225 for the event to finish in 12th place. Freshman Kyle Murphy shot par in the final round to finish at 228 in 25th place. Sophomore Jason Gaare also placed 25th with a 228. Freshman Steve Sass finished in 62nd place at 237.
This event concludes the fall season for Marquette. It's spring schedule will be released prior to the start of the second semester.
