Marquette Golf 17th in Ron Smith Invitational Jacksonville State leads event by four strokes

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Marquette men's golf team shot a 319 in the first round of the Ron Smith Invitational at the USF Golf Course to place 17th after day one. Jacksonville State shot a first round 282 to lead the tournament after 18 holes.

Marquette's highest finisher was Jason Gaare with a six over, 77. Justin Kolumber of Georgia Southern is the overall leader at four-under 67.

The Ron Smith Invitational will continue Saturday, February 23 at 7:45 a.m., with Friday's results determining the pairings and tee times.
