Golfers Post Best Finish of the Season

PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii -- Marquette, just one week off of one of its worst performances of the season, puts up its best effort of the year, finishing second at the Kauai Collegiate Cup in Princeville, Hawaii. MU scored a 16-over par 880 for a second-place finish, its highest of the year. The Golden Eagles were 13 shots behind the host school, Western Kentucky. MU was one stroke better than Xavier in third.
Five golfers completed play with an overall par score (216) or better. Miles Maillet of Xavier took medalist honors with a five-under 211, followed by Nic Watson of Eastern Michigan at 212. MU freshman Nathan Colson, the second round leader, was third with his 213 and Matt Hilton of Marquette tied with WKU's Brandon Waldrop at 215 for fourth place laurels.
MU next takes part in the Pirate Spring Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C., on April 5-6.
