GREENVILLE, N.C. - UNC Wilmington held off host East Carolina in the third and final round of the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate, held April 5 and 6 at the Bradford Creek Golf Club. Wilmington shot an eight under, 856, for the three rounds, holding off ECU's three-under, 861. Marquette finished 25th with a three-round score of 938.
UNC Wilmington held a two stroke lead heading into the tournament's final round. Adam Gee led UNCW to the first place finish with a 211 (-5) to claim medalist honors. He defeated UNC Greensboro's James Stanofski by one stroke. Marquette's highest finisher was Matt Hilton who tied for 28th at 221 (+5). Hilton shot a 72-75-74 for the three rounds.
MU's Nathan Colson shot an 11-over 227 for the three rounds to finish 75th. Mike Everson finished in 122nd with a 246. However, he shot his first sub-80 round of the tournament with a 78 in the final 18 holes. Jason Gaare placed in a tie for 123rd at 247. Justin Christensen finished 126th with a 256.
Marquette concludes its regular season on April 15-16 with the Billiken Invitational in Madison, Ill.
