MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team will appear on television three times in its final four home games and will be on the air in four of its remaining nine games.
The Golden Eagles have to TV games this weekend, with both contests being aired locally in Milwaukee on WMLW-Ch. 41. Marquette will play TCU in its first televised game of the weekend on Friday, January 31 at 7 p.m. Steve "The Homer" True and former Marquette women's basketball player Kareeda Chones will be the broadcasting team for that game.
On Sunday, February 2, Marquette will play Houston on WMLW-Ch. 41. The telecast begins at 2 p.m. Kareeda Chones will be joined by Chris Roth, sports director for WBAY-Ch. 2 in Green Bay, for the call.
ESPN2 has picked up the Marquette/Charlotte game on Sunday, Feb. 16. The game will be part of an eight game regional doubleheader package on ESPN2. The game will be one of four carried on a regional basis in the second half of the doubleheader. To accommodate television, the start time has been adjusted to 3 p.m.
The Golden Eagles have one game on the road remaining to be televised. Marquette's final regular season game will be broadcast by the Conference USA Network, and will air locally on WMLW-Ch. 41. In that telecast, Marquette will play at DePaul on Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
Two other opportunities exist for MU to be on TV. The Conference USA Tournament semifinals will be carried on the Conference USA Network on Saturday, March 8. Should Marquette advance to that round of the tournament, WMLW will likely carry the game in the Milwaukee area. The semifinals of the tournament, held in Memphis, Tenn., are scheduled for 2:30 and 4 p.m.
For the first time in Conference USA history, the tournament final will air live on ESPN2. The title game is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m.
