Kieger Named to C-USA All-Freshman Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Guard Carolyn Kieger was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team at a banquet honoring the C-USA Tournament in Memphis.

Kieger led Marquette in assists with 112. She led the team and league in free throw percentage (88.0). She also led the team in three-point percentage at 41.5 percent, but did not have enough made threes to qualify for the conference leaders.

Her totals for three-point percentage and free throw percentage are on pace to be the best for one season in Marquette history.

The Golden Eagles meet Memphis in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament at 6 p.m. on March 6 at the Pyramid in Memphis. Should Marquette advance, the Golden Eagles will meet top-seed Charlotte at 6 p.m. on March 7. The Memphis game will be broadcast on the Marquette web site. Should MU play in the quarterfinals, the game will be carried on WRRD 540 AM.
