The Marquette women's basketball coaching staff will be holding its Fourth Annual Women's Basketball Coaching Clinic on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Marquette Gym.
The clinic is open to all coaches for a registration fee of $40, or $35 per person for an entire coaching staff. This year's clinic will once again allow coaches to observe and participate in an actual Marquette University women's basketball team practice. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Marquette coaches and learn from the staff in a follow-up discussion of the practice and the Marquette philosophy.
Two special guests will also be a part of the clinic. San Antonio SilverStars guard Jennifer Azzi will share her ideas about conditioning and developing the individual. Azzi has a wealth of experience as a standout player for Stanford University, the U.S. Olympic team, and in both the ABL and WNBA professional leagues.
Former Michigan head coach Sue Guevara will also be on hand. A veteran coach in the Big Ten, one of the most respected conferences for women's basketball, Sue will share her observations of the latest trends in basketball, as well as a few of her favorite sets and plays.
Azzi and Guevara are sure to make this one of the most informative clinics to date.
And finally, as an added bonus at the conclusion of the day, clinic attendees will be given the opportunity to get one of the first looks at the new, state-of-the-art basketball facility on the Marquette campus, The Al McGuire Center. For those interested, the Marquette coaching staff will give guided tours of this long awaited addition to the Marquette campus.
