Thanks to the Fans

As of now, our home court record is 5-0. A big part of the equation for our home-winning streak is the loud, yet tasteful, enthusiastic, yet respectful, fans. Playing home games on campus has given students more of an incentive to watch us play as well. And this is quite the advantage, at least when it comes to "guiding" an opposing player as she heads to their bench after fouling out of the game.
Thank you to all those fans who have made the cold, cold trek through the snow. This past week, Kelly noted that on the day of every home game in the Al, it has snowed (it's January, and we live in Milwaukee. Sorry Tulane and Southern Miss.). The traditions we are starting in the Al are wonderful as well! Personally, the team likes to run out onto the court and slap the hands of all the boys and girls who stand on either side of the court. One would think it would be easy to follow instructions. All we have to do is this: Carolyn runs onto the court and goes straight, then Tierra goes right, the next goes straight, and so on. This way, we can slap the hands of all the kids. Unfortunately this order breaks and chaos enters the line right in front on me. I never know how this happens.
Katie O'Grady would like to send a personal "thanks" to all the students who have started student-sections on each end of the court. If ever Terri is at a loss as to what to say to the refs, you can always hear the typical "ARE YOU BLIND?" from fans. But this is all just a beginning! We still have many more games this season, and are best are yet to come.
We travel this weekend to East Carolina and Charlotte, follow that up with a stop at DePaul and then we are back home!
