While Marquette?s block numbers were down, its dig numbers increased helping to preserve the win. Marquette dug 23 USF attacks, a game high seven coming from junior outside hitter Theresa Coughlin.
After jumping out to a 17-12 lead in game three, Marquette cruised to a three-point win. Todd posted a team best five kills, joined by Coughlin who also had five. Marquette hit a robust 30.0 percent for the game.

Flavia Silveria had 11 of her team high 19 kills for USF (3-12, 1-4 C-USA) to keep the Bulls chances alive. The largest lead either team had in the game was three, when Marquette held a 15-12 advantage.

?This was a long match for four games,? Rolf added. ?But we played a very good all-around game. We didn?t have many areas where we struggled.?
