Loughrin Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE, Wis. ? Marquette sophomore Alison Loughrin was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week today.
Loughrin recorded her first-career hat trick in Friday?s 4-0 win at Charlotte. It was the first hat trick by a Golden Eagle since Kate Gordon had three goals against Charlotte on Nov. 2, 2000. It was the fifth time in Marquette history that a player had three goals in a match.
In Sunday?s 2-2 tie against East Carolina, Loughrin scored a goal at 42:28, to tie the game 1-1. The sophomore forward leads Marquette in goals with four and in points with eight. Loughrin scored two goals as a freshman at Marquette and now has six goals for her career.
Marquette will play host to Cincinnati on Friday in a game that will mark the beginning of a four-match homestand. Action at Valley Fields kicks off at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Marquette will take on Louisville at 1 p.m.
