Gray Takes Second at 49er Collegiate

Golden Eagles finish eight to finish fall season
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. ? Freshman Ted Gray shot a second round 68 and a third round 69 to finish second in the 49er Collegiate Classic in Huntersville, N.C. Gray earned the second place finish after improving on his first round even par score. Gray finished seven strokes behind Charlotte's Matt Mincer, who was the individual champion at 14-under, 202.
Gray led Marquette to an eighth place team finish. The Golden Eagles shot 10-over, 872 for the three rounds. The host team, Charlotte, won the event by one stroke at 10-under par.
Sophomore Michael Bielawski shot a 220 for the three rounds, finishing 32nd. Junior Joe Weber placed 43rd with a 223. Junior Steve Sass shot 229 to finish 59th. Junior Mark Eldridge placed 71st with a 232.
This tournament concludes the fall season for the Marquette golf team.
