Hello again!
Well, to any of you out there who could've been trapped in some sort of dark dungeon where televisions or computers were unavailable all weekend, you would not know it, but we are 10-0 in the Al McGuire Center! This past weekend, we beat UW-Milwaukee on Saturday and IUPUI (too long to spell out) on Sunday. Yes, they were both close games, yes all we need is one point to win, and yes we like to make games exciting for the fans!
These were two talented teams that gave us good games on our home court. There's nothing like playing in the same gym you practice and condition in during the rest of the year, and hearing the band, cheerleaders, and all the fans supporting us in the background. Let's keep this up, in fact, let's make the Al the toughest gym in the country to play in!
Sometimes the gym is even tough for us to play in, because for some reason, the contractors who designed the gym put the main court right over some bumps in the ground. This is why (ahem) a few of us seem to be "tripping" during games. Those "hills" seem to jump out of nowhere! They'll get you every time.
Wait. Before anyone celebrates the holiday season that is upon us, bring the kids, bring the grandparents that flew in from Florida, and anyone else, to our home game Wednesday against Toledo. This is another good non-conference game we have scheduled, and we want all of those blue seats filled! Then, after everyone has had a solid game day workout of cheering and jumping up and down in the bleachers, each of you can enjoy the turkey.
Have a blessed week, each of you, and we'll see you next time! P.S. How about those Packers!!!???
Until next time,
Monica
