Loughrin Earns Academic Honor

MILWAUKEE - Marquette sophomore Alison Loughrin (Appleton, Wis./Xavier) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District V Second Team today.

Loughrin currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.922 and is a nursing major. The forward has five goals on the season and has added one assist. Her lone assist of the season came in yesterday's 2-1 win over Charlotte in the first round of the C-USA Tournament in St. Louis.

Loughrin was named C-USA Athlete of the Week following her hat trick in a 4-0 regular season win at Charlotte on Oct. 1.

The Golden Eagles, a No. 3 seed in the C-USA Tournament, will take on UAB, a No. 2 seed, at 5 p.m. today in the 2004 C-USA Tournament in St. Louis.
