Gearing Up for "The State Championships"

Entering our big game today against Wisconsin, we are 4-0. Our team just got back from our first road trip to Drake, who we played the day after Thanksgiving. That game was a very important win for us, because it showed our entire team that we can play in front of a large crowd on the road, in a hostile environment, and come away with a win.
Road games are always a challenge, to overcome the dehydration and "jet lag" that accompanies flying. (Although, I think any one of us will deal with these factors if we could charter every one of our away games!) As Terri likes to remind our team this year (often), we need to be especially focused on the game plan on the road. We proved that we could handle these external factors and come away with a decisive win.
I do have to mention our charter flight again, because this was a fun experience! As soon as we boarded, all of us turned into little kids in a candy store because the stewardesses set out two baskets of healthy goodies for us. And, we did fly Midwest Airlines, and what is the most important thing to know about flying Midwest? Yes, it's the free warm, soft, chocolate chip cookies. Even after a rather large Thanksgiving meal, most of us still did not turn down the cookies.
As I mentioned in the beginning, we have Wisconsin tonight, on our home floor. Scott, our strength and conditioning coach, says this week is the state championships! We have UW Milwaukee down, we have Wisconsin tomorrow, and then we have UW-Green Bay on Saturday. This is a big week for us, and we are ready!
Until next time,
Monica
