WISMA School Supplies Drive

The Women in Support of Marquette Athletics (WISMA) are sponsoring their fourth annual School Supplies and Children?s Book Drives. Fans are asked to bring schools supplies to the women?s basketball game on Wednesday, December 1 against Wisconsin and new or ?gently used? children?s books to the Marquette men?s basketball game on Saturday, December 11, also against Wisconsin.
Joani Crean, wife of Marquette Men?s Basketball Coach Tom Crean, and Gwen Cords, wife of Marquette Athletics Director Bill Cords, are spearheading this event.
?These events are very important to us because there is no greater gift a child can receive than to learn the love of reading,? said Joani Crean. ?We are thankful to have the opportunity through Marquette athletics to help children.?
Collection bins will be placed at all entrances to the Al McGuire and Bradley Centers. Marquette hopes to collect thousands of supplies and books that will be put to good use by Milwaukee kids.
All of the items collected will be donated to schools and organizations serving children near Marquette University.
